Patek Philippe

Outdated and quirky but interesting

A few months ago, even though I suspected I wouldn't like it, I tried on this Patek Philippe ref. 2461 with a platinum case and diamond indexes (powered by cal. 9-90).

The dial looked a bit sinister and the diamond indexes and black strap with embossed Calatrava cross felt a bit quirky and outdated. So I much preferred the ref. 2531, which I tried on at the same time.

I enjoy looking back at the photos nonetheless and the other platinum example I've found online (cf. below) makes me think that with a fresher dial and a brown strap, I would have liked it much more.

A yellow gold example could also have been more to my liking (cf. below).

What do you think of such a reference?

Best, Emmanuel
