Anaroku shares his enduring affection for his Patek Philippe Ref. 3445G, a model he acquired a decade ago. Despite its 'ordinary' appearance and a redone dial, the author highlights its unique charm, particularly appreciating the previous owner's modification of a transparent case back to showcase the Caliber 27-460 movement. This post delves into the personal connection one can form with a watch, transcending its market value or pristine condition.

It’s an ordinary round model, but I feel a strange attachment to it.

Ref.3445G was once sold in large numbers in Japan, and the price is reasonable compared to other PP antique models. However, I still have a strong attachment to this nondescript model that I bought 10 years ago.

This straight rug, which is less popular than the Calatrava style, is also not very pristine.

The dial is clearly re-done and the logo is printed as well.

However, the previous owner modified the back cover to a transparent one so that you could see the Cal.27-460 inside. Therefore, the thickness of the watch may be a little thicker than the original. However, thanks to the thin strap, it is very comfortable to wear.

It comes from a time of far less hoopla.

Nice to see. The box crystal front surprised me.
