Okay, so the moment a lot of us have been waiting for has arrived: Seiko is officially distributing its fantastic watches into the North American market. I suspect the line will now take its place among all of the high-end brands we covet and I'm personally looking forward to owning my first GS. Now the question becomes one which I'm sure we'll all debate for a long time to come...let me be the first to pose it: Which Seiko movement is the "preferred" movement for WIS-types like ourselves?
* Automatic Caliber 9S (Hi-Beat) Series?
* Quartz Caliber 9F Series?
* Spring Drive 9R Series?
Here is how I might initially size this up.
A) Timekeeping accuracy:
#1 - 9F
#2 - 9R
#3 - 9S
B) A sweep second hand that is absolutely fluid in movement:
#1 - 9R
#2 - 9S
#3 - 9F
C) A "pure mechanical" iteration of horological art:
#1 - 9S
#2 - 9R
#3 - 9F
So which should the discriminating watch officianado prefer?
