The fifth limited edition of the Jacky Ickx watch is an anthem to

the fifth limited edition in this prestigious line, is a tribute to one
of the world’s most legendary automobile competitions: the Le Mans 24
Hours endurance race.
Must-have functions for racing drivers
Developed
in cooperation with Jacky Ickx himself, this fifth edition is a fine
example of watches dedicated to classic racing. It offers all the
features that are indispensable for a racing driver. First, the
chronograph which, in addition to the 60-minute counter at 9 o’clock,
features two other specific characteristics: a 24-hour counter at 12
o’clock serving to check the remaining race duration at any time; and
the flyback function enabling the user to start a new timing operation
without first needing to reset the hands to zero. This saves valuable
time aboard a car roaring around Le Mans at over 405 km/h – the track
speed record. The tachometric scale engraved on the bezel also serves to
measure speed over a 1,000-metre distance: for example, 1,000 metres
covered in 45 seconds corresponds to a speed of 80 km/h. A large date
display at 12 o’clock and small seconds at 3 o’clock set the finishing
touch to the perfectly balanced design of this exceptional model.
Its rugged and resolutely sporting stainless steel 42.4 mm case is water-resistant to 50 metres, while the black dial with its two silver-toned counters and one black counter maintains excellent visibility even in the dark,thanks to Superluminova-coated hands and hour-markers. Shock-resistant and equipped with screw-lock pushers and crown to ensure optimal water resistance, the Jacky Ickx Edition V is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions as well as all manner of physical stresses and strains – precisely such as those experienced at the wheel of a car taking part in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Issued through an exclusive 2000-piece limited edition in stainless steel and 500-piece in 18ct rose gold, it is immediately recognisable thanks to the 6/24 inscription on the case-back, symbolising the six victories clocked up by Jacky Ickx in this legendary race.
One of the world’s greatest racing legends
Jacky Ickx is one of the greatest drivers in the history of motor racing. During his time on the Formula 1 racing circuit from 1967 to 1979, he took part in 114 Grand Prix races and earned his first win at the 1968 French Grand Prix at the age of 23. However, Jacky Ickx is above all famous for his performances in endurance races, and particularly in the Le Mans 24 Hours, an event he won six times in total. This multi-talented competitor also finished first in the 1983 Paris-Dakar car rally. The launch of the new Jacky Ickx Edition V coincides with the presentation this year of a documentary film retracing the legendary driver’s outstanding career.
