Chopard

I've been looking around...

I currently have an Omega SMP (blk/blk w/Speedmaster bracelet) and an Ollech & Wajs non-date M4 w/M5 12-hour bezel. I've been thinking about getting a non-diver's watch. I started looking at the IWC Mark XV first. I really like it, but it has the same base movement as my SMP. I haven't written it off, but I thought I'd look at some other watches with different movements. I really like the look of the silver dial LUC Sport and the black dial Pro One (I know it's another diver, I can't seem to get away). I don't typically think about display backs, but the display back on the LUC looks fantastic.

I know that the LUC Sport does not hack, but I was wondering if the Pro One has the same movement. If it does not, does it hack? I had a Seiko 779 diver for a VERY short time. I couldn't get over it not hacking or not being able to manually wind it. Of course the finish and feel played a big part in me selling it as well. I don't think I would mind the LUC not hacking so much if it is as accurate as I hear. The Seiko was horrible, losing more than a minute a day. If I'm not having to constantly reset the time, I won't have to worry about it.

The watch looks highly legible, even with the silver dial. How well does it glow at night? The luminousity and legibility of the SMP were two of the biggest reasons I bought it.

I really prefer rubber straps over leather these days. Can the Spor be had with a rubber strap? Other than the Pro One strap with the waves? What type of buckle does it have? How expensive are replacement straps from Chopard?

Sorry for the length of the post and the number of questions. Chopard's website seems to be down. Thank you in advance for any information. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

John
