I lied
The 1085 was not my last Panerai. This happened out of nowhere as the deal was priced to a level I could not walk away from. Now I will stand by my conviction that Panerai is total garbage from a movement perspective! This “in house p.900” runs like crud. It’s plus 10 a day so far. That’s worse than a seiko SKX in practice.

I haven't timed mine
But I'm sure it does better than that--I wore it as my only watch for a 2+ week trip to Hawaii this summer, and if it had been running 10+ a day for that long, I think I would have noticed! ...
It’s hit or miss with them. They have horrible quality control now. I noticed because I check every new watch I get
I don’t care per se as I flip watches so often and will get my money back from this if needed. I do love how Panerai looks and wears though. The submersible line was a good move as people thst can’t get Rolex at retail gravitate toward the next best thing...
This movement is not in house.
It’s a cheap 3 hand and date that they put from the due right into the submersible! It’s like a Honda Civic 1.5 liter engine being put into an acrid nsx! Same concept!

I believe that movement began its life in a Baume and Mercier Oh and also: I love how it looks and wears, too! That's what I own this watch for. The unimpressive movement doesn't bother me as long as it works (though it would certainly bother me if it did...

This was the shortest amount of time I ever went in and out of a watch! Check the omega section I got the PO instead!

I haven’t had Panerai running this poorly before either. My base 1085 also runs within decent tolerance. Either way I just got rid of it and got a omega I have wanted instead.
