How can a moonphase like this be set accurately ?
I mean if it deviates around -3 second a day, how can this be proven, tested ?
I do not own the Lange 1 moonphase, that has the a similarly acurate moonphase, so therefore I can not say if it is mentioned in the booklet to to watch.
It might be not the biggest issue regarding this watch, but I like to test and see wheter the watch is keeping performance.
I tested the Ellipse and noted a gain of ten seconds a day, bougth from new.
As I was not "happy" with that I send it back to service and it came back with a gain of only 2 sec per day.
Both, the technical marvel of this caliber 240 and the oustanding service at Patek was a real pleasure !
So, not to come across as a technical geek or as a philistine:
How can such a moonphase be set properly ?
I have my own idea to that question, but would like to hear other suggestions or somebody knows the true answer.
Many thanks
