Friends,
One of the more recent releases in the 1966 line had been the Dual Time complication, Ref 49455.
This was a watche I wanted to handle in the metal and last weekend I was able to closer inspect it.
From my previous judgment, I was a bit hesitant with the design of the dial. I very much like the idea to put two chronograph pushers in the case to move the second time zone hand back and forth, I think a very practical implementation.
So here is what I think of it having played with it. The case as with any 1966 is superb, the pushers add some complexity which I like. The 40mm diameter is ideal and the proportions perfect.
I still struggle a bit with the dial, but in real it is much better than on photos. What is a little bothering me is that due to the extra hand, the dial sits very deep in the case, which appears a bit odd to me.
However, I think a very nice dress watch offer from GP, so if you’re looking for a formal, coloured gold dress watch with a very practical complication, this is one serious contender.
