German Big Date Olympics - Lange vs GO

As an owner of a Lange 1, and with an undetermined GO on the top of my wish list, I amateurishly conclude that GO's big date is a notch above Lange's.

The first reason is subjective - I find GO's beveled frame beautiful and almost transparent - it just blends into the dial without notice. The second reason is heresy, and I'd like confirmation from a GO owner - my Lange takes about 30 minutes to change over to the next day - as it finishes, there's a distinctive click, but the changeover is very noticable between midnite and 12:34am. I have heard the GO panoramic date changes over instantly - is this true?

Of course, some may prefer the gradual changeover - after all, it means about only 2% of the time one can't legibly read the date, and perhaps it's desirable to have a transitional period where one day blends into the next, the two days virtually overlapping for a brief time span.

I have been very impressed with the GO case designs, and the display backs. Conversely, in the limited manual winding I have done on the automatics, I do find the wind to be a bit grindy, even on the Panoramic Date without moon, where the complications are not extensive. The latter GO watch does not wind nearly as smooth as my automatic Royal Oak day/date/moon, which winds and sounds like butter (almost as smooth as the manual wind Lange 1).

Now, if someone has nothing better to do on a Sunday than play with photo software, it would be interesting to see a scan of a Lange 1 with their big date replaced by the GO version.

I've attached my watch if you care to "play"
