Jaeger-LeCoultre

Fantasy Polaris re-issue specification

OK, let's start by emphasising that there is no Polaris re-issue planned as far as I know. The ideas presented are this author's own fantasy!

Well, let's start with trying to be as original as possible! Thus, alarm, rotating internal time bezel and critically 3 crowns on the same side.

Hmmm, problem #1. Does this preclude the use of compressor keys as there is no space? Maybe not technically - the new Comp Memovox has no key on the L/H crown for example and still has high water resistance. But I have a suspicion that that then creates problems for JLC in that it damages the techno element of the key system on its other compressor watches? How do we feel about the key system - even if it would fit?

Regarding movement - Could it be based on the new Autotractor? Should it?

How about adding any features - take for example the addition of date to the new column wheel movement Omega speedmaster.... Does meddling like adding a date window add or detract from a re-issue?

Hmmm, there are lots of questions forming in my mind. I need to think about this further than just a quick 'log-in and post' session. This is serious stuff!
