Written in 1993, the following article describes and shows how one makes the most complicated parts of a striking watch. It was written to inspire and educate watchmakers, so it is necessarily technical in nature, but it does illustrate to the watch lover the complexities of such components and, in particular, the great skill and knowledge required of first class restorers.
