Horological Meandering

Different brand, same model name? How does that work?

Siufleung’s post this morning (here:  www.watchprosite.com  for it) on his Credor Pacifique had me wonder about something I wanted to discuss for a while here.

Over time one comes across watches from different brands sharing model names. Not talking about watches that share a corporate owner, or where one manufacturer makes them for others, either. Simply relatively unrelated products with the same, or close as, name.

Here are some examples:

Polaris from JLC...

And Polaris from Omega...

Pacific (or in this instance Pacifique) from Credor...

From Zenith...

Or from Tutima.

I wonder what the logic behind the name choice has been for the ones following...

Know of any other examples?

Have a nice weekend!
