What I find surprising that different manufacturers use the same model names, like Polaris by both JLC and Omega. And I was wondering why - in this case Omega - would decide to use the model name already established by JLC...

Funnily enough it has often been the watches breaking the mould that turned iconic later on... As for your collecting theme, it made me laugh at first because I never thought of that but you are of course absolutely right - not much more diversity in nami...
