blu - source du temps Bernhard Lederer

"Passion, innovation, beauty, and superb quality are the essential features of blu- source du temps's
watch production, emphasizing the creativity of a new generation of maitres horlogers."

That, my friends, is the introduction from master watchmaker Bernhard Lederer's Basel press kit for his company blu- source du temps.

Bernhard continues, "Our products are the direct result of a philosophical approach to express the passing of time in a novel way. blu- source du temps celebrates the time in an unprecedented manner, creating a new dimension to mankind's age-old image of the hours and minutes, an image communicated by the traditions of the Swiss watchmaking industry."

This philosophy is proven true with their 2002 collection shown at Basel. They possess a uniqueness and sophistication not often seen in today's watchmaking. Without further hesitation I post with pleasure blu- source du temps.

Model Atoll- Made from black mother-of-pearl, the entire dial turns on its axis once every twelve hours. The outer edge of the subsidiary minute dial is set with 36 Top Wesselton white diamonds and one sapphire indicating the hour. Hour markers are engraved into the dial's flange.

Model Diamant- Created in solid 18-kt gold and completely paved with 308 white diamonds of Top Wesselton quality and six sapphires. The main dial indicates the hours by rotating once within a 12-hour period. An off-center rotating disk indicates the minutes by the position of the line of blue sapphires.

Model Moonlight- Made from black mothr-of-pearl, the dial indicates the hours by rotating once within a 12-hour period. An off-center rotating disk paved with 103 Top Wesselton white diamonds indicates the minutes by the position of the line of five blue sapphires.

Model Galaxy- Based on a sophisticated and refined design, the time is read from the three concentrically placed rotating disks decorated with sparkling avanturine (or mother-of-pearl). Replacing the traditional hour, minute and seconds hands, the exact time is indicated by the position of white diamonds of top Wesselton quality set into the disks.

blu- Classics

Model Maestro- Chronograph with matt black (or copper) dial sporting finely machine-turned sub dials displaying power reserve, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers, subsidiary seconds and date.

Model Quartett- This dial breaks from the regulator tradition in the use of a retrograde minute display placed at 6 o'clock, forming an arc over the date window. The guilloche dial also sports an hour sub-dial with Roman numerals at 12 o'clock and a large sweep second hand.

Model Quintett- Representing another break from the tradition of regulator-style timepieces, the silver-colored dial is outfitted with a number of displays such as: Retrograde month to the right of the guilloche dial, day window at 10 o'clock, date window at 6 o'clock, just within the confines of the large minute dial. The subsidiary hour is located off-center at 12 o'clock and sports four Roman numerals.
