antique watch ??????
i have a girard perregaux watch that looks as follows
it is 10 k gold filled
black face with gold arabic numerals for 12,2,4,8,10 and dots for the other hours.
in the lower portion there is a seconds hand.
the face reads
gerard perregaux
1791
i bought it in new york city in 1966 or so from a retailer by the name of ARTHUR SOGNO located in rockefeller plaza.
the watch had been stored away in a box for over 15 years or so,i was told,maybe less, and had a retail price of $98.00 from the day it went on sale probably late forties or early 50's.
in 1966 they found the box and sold all of the contents at the list price shown in the label.many other watches were there also.
i bought this one and took off the crocodile band and got a black band to match the face.
is this watch worth keeping ?
or is it a low price throw away ?
