Another Universal Geneve Week
Team,
A dear friend that collects other brand of watches, was grouping his watches to be photographed and ...
He located a small box with some vintage Universal Geneve Chronographs!
Here is his collection.
I hope that everyone enjoys those pieces as much I enjoyed taking pictures of each one:
1) This one I could not date. There was no visible serial number on it.
2) This Aero Compax is the most interesting.
The crown at 9 sets the watch hands at 12 on an independent way!
The serial 1.2xx.xxx dates this watch, according to my sources to 1945/1946!
For sure, the dial shows this age.
3) I believe that this one has the wrong set of hands but is a classic Tri Compax.
I could date it, based on the serial 1.4xx.xxx to 1949/1950!
4) A clean example of Compax watch.
This is the older of the set. Serial 8xx.xxx sets his date of "birth" in 1941/1942.
Please, take my dating process (based on the case serial number) with a grain of salt. I'm not familiar with Universal watches and my references are minimal.
I hope you enjoy this small but rich set of chronos.
Now, back to work to capture this friend "real" collection.
Cheers,
Nilo
