ADVICE NEEDED: Type XX Date Change Function
I have a Type XX Transatlantique fly-back chronograph - love the watch and everything about it. The watch seems to be in perfect working order and keeps excllent time - but I do have oine concern.
The changing of the date takes an extrordinarily long time - upwards of a full hour. I understand that each watch brand is crafted differently and the function depends on the calibre, but I have other watches that change much, much faster. My Glashutte Sport EVO GMT changes in a split second and the date change on the IWC Portuguese is complete in about just 2 minutes. Even the JLC Master Control - is complete in mere seconds.
Is it correct functioning that it should take so long on the Breguet? The date chnage starts somewhere around 11:00 pm and is complete by midnight - usually a bit before.
I've had the watch for about two years and never really noticed - but I've seen this function over the past few nights.
Any input or advice would be welcome.

you have had it for 2 years and it works perfect so i wouldnt worry now, it depends on the watch but some take longer than others , does the Breguet change automatically on 30 to 1 ? this may be the reason or do you have to adjust it each month ?
no worries

no need to worry Thom I have a type XX as well and it shows the same behaviour in changing the date. Your watch is fine as long as all functions are running properly. The reason for the slow change of date might be due to the fact that the movement base w...

Hi All just want to share my limited knowledge. I understand the speed at which the date changes has something to do with energy saving. For those watches with quick change, they need a lot of enery for the quick flick. The slower the change, the less ene...
