A simple question for everday use
Hi all,
reading Jay`s lovely message I started thinking what`s wrong with me.
I honestly envy You for Your affection for Your everyday`s watch!
That`s one thing I really enjoy and appreciate in this Breguet forum:people that really love their little treasuries!Alex`s positive comment for the "simplest" version of a Breguet watch was very soothing for me-and I think many of us-who cannot afford a PP sky moon tourbillon for 700k.Perfection in proportion and style and its appreciation is no matter of money or complication.
Some Years ago,I bought a very nice top brand watch.I admired it in its box and papers and glitter as everyone of us,dear friends,does,I suppose after receiving the desired piece.
Then,I wore it everyday during business and holiday for some weeks.-What happened:It lost its glamour and was an indestinctive watch on my wrist.So I put it again into its box and safe,bought an ordinary simple steel watch,looked at the precious piece only 2 months later again and enjoyed its glamour once more.
I thought it is like drinking a bottle of Petrus 1990 or Mouton 1945 every day after dinner:it will loose its majesty quickly I`m afraid:You so easily get used to the luxury of something singular, You don`t appreciate it any more.
What do specialists and collectors like some of You wear as everyday watch without loosing the sensation of wonder and respect?
