A rare encounter! :-)
I was walking around the Pavilion shopping complex in Kuala Lumpur (KL) this afternoon (one of the many benefits of being retired!) when I walked into one of the more illustrious watch shops and came across this beauty. Prior to returning to KL, I had been bugging the London AD for over a year now and they had been unable to source me this watch so I did not expect to come across it in my beloved home town.
The Signature One will be produced in 66 pieces I believe. This is one of the 11 in rose gold although I am more keen on one of the 33 stainless steel models. Please note that 'keen' here does not in a way indicate that this watch is within my budget (one of the many drawbacks of being retired!). It is in almost a wearable 41.4mm (small by Gruebel Forsey standards) and is less than 12mm thick (I said less than - I will guess 11.8mm

). Lots has been said about the unparalleled finishing of GF watches but one of the things I like to do when I 'test out' a watch is to wind the crown. I cannot recall a more satisfying crown winding experience than I had with the Signature One. The smoothness was totally mind boggling and to say that it was an orgasmic experience would be an understatement (yes, yes, I know I am a deprived old fart!

. I thoroughly recommend anyone who is in close vicinity of a GF preferably a Signature One to indulge themselves in this ritual.
Many will know I am a terribly fussy person when it comes to size but today, I made that one exception with the SIgnature One. A bit on the thick side perhaps but I thought to myself, how am I going to cope with my RW Smith Series 2 which is 13.5mm thick when it finally arrives in 2020??!! Speaking of the Series 2, given a choice, would you go for a Series 2 or a Signature One?! OMG, this almost sounds like a Star Wars Episode 8!

The visual impact of the large balance wheel moving must be seen to be appreciated

13.5mm has seldom looked so slim!
