A nice duo: 5970 & 3970
Yesterday, during a dinner organized by a french forum, I had the opportunity to shoot these 3970 and 5970. They are well-known watches but it is always a pleasure to see them at the same time to compare them:

I love the balance of the dial:
While the 3970 is a very elegant watch, I find the 5970 more casual, more sportive. It is of course due to its size and to the presence of the scale around the dial. Of course, the case materials enhance here this feeling.

Honestly... they play the same league. But I had a different feeling with the 5270.

Hi, Although I agree with most of your point, I must remind that the 3970/5070 calibre was not found in any other watch from any other brand. Patek Philippe only used the base plate and the rest of the calibre was made inhouse so it looks and is different...

Debated between the two and due to my size wrist the 3970 'fit' better. It is now my daily wear timepiece. The quest for larger and larger cases does not sit right on certain wrists imho. Still, both are of course truly great timepieces!
