I was very pleased to hear that after following and supporting this 6541 story for more then a year, finally i got the chance to buy this stunner.
It'a a first owner 6541 sold in 1964 in Austria as a gift by the wife to her husband for christmas. Watch has never been worn much and last 30 years it spend it's time in the desk drawer of mr's secretary..;- ) So that made me travel to Zurich yesterday and meet a pure passion friend of mine that had documended EVERY thing, move, reaction after he bought it directly from the family. Amazing archive!!!! Geneva has had the watch twice and both times it's stated that it's original....Funny thing is also that the owner & his wife could not recall the watch with a blizzard hand, it is now like it's bought in '64. Maybe...it's because radium hands where not allowed to be installed anymore after '63 tritium law of T<25...
Stop talking, here it is....
Besides the fact that this one got different hands from Rolex, it's missing the dash "-" between Oyster & Perpetual. Further mine is also not having the big Rolex logo we normally see. We have see small logo on first batch 1019 from '64 - '69.....Not many 6541 with small logo are known but finally, after a long search, i found 2 examples sold in 2006 at AQ Hong Kong...
sold by AQ in 2006,
Asked AQ politly for the scans that aren't online anymore and here they are...Small Rolex Logo,
the same typo as on the first 1019's batch from '64 - '69 and without the ' - ' between Oyster & Perpetual
