10 Ideas For Creating a Post on PuristSPro

It’s become pretty clear now why PuristSPro stands apart from the rest of the crowd. Our community hangout is the gem restaurant in town and everything that you post is the irresistible fare. Although a two-way street of sharing is always more fulfilling and worthwhile, we understand that not everyone is automatically inclined to express their thoughts and opinions on the forums and that is totally okay. There’s nothing wrong with watching the game from the sideline. It’s just a hundred times better to get in it and play too.

Posting has it’s advantages no doubt and you can get something out of exchanging notes online for things like watch advice, opinions and answers to questions. But you should also keep in mind that others will get something out of what you have to share too. You don’t have to be a watch expert to offer a post that others will want to read, inspiring on a personal level or talks about something that watch fans can relate to. All you really need is time, because it is easy to lose track of it when you are having fun. So if you want to post something but not sure what to talk about, here’s a list of ideas to help you get started.

1. Post about a watch you own.

It’s easy to write about something you are personally connected to and probably have strong opinions about. You can tell about the story of how you discovered the watch and why you decided to buy it. Point out what you like most about the watch and what you learned about it after owning it. It can be about a watch you’ve had for a long time or one you’ve just acquired. Do a personal review because these are the best to read and most impactful when it comes to influencing Purist buying decisions. We don’t want to read a watered down, 3rd party review that only covers the basics. We want to hear the opinions of real owners who used their own money to buy a watch and who know what it’s like to “live” with it. What they will take notice of that non-owners may miss are things like how it feels on the wrist in the morning when slipping the arm through a freshly pressed collar shirt. Or the slight feel between the fingers and the subtle sound of a watch when winding it for the first time.  And most importantly we want to witness the expression of true pride in ownership which will only come through when someone submits their own hard-earned money to acquire a little token of self-reward. Only when there is so much invested will the nonobvious details be revealed. The watch paths of certain Purist team members began with a personal wristwatch review.

2. Post about a watch that you don’t own….yet.

This can also be called your “grail watch post”. Everyone has that ultimate dream watch that they fantasize about owning. What’s yours?

3. Post on our Wrist Scan forum...if you don’t want to think too hard.

The weekly moderators make it easy and fun with rotating themes. So find out what the theme of the week is and join in with a shot of your own.

4. Post about a personal experience that you had regarding watches, good or bad.

Some examples might include service issues, visiting a watch manufacture, meeting a watchmaker, attending a watch event, winning an auction for a watch or losing one to theft. Whatever it is, we would love to hear about it. If it’s a negative experience, we can offer words of support. If it’s a positive experience, let us rejoice with you.

5. Post about your favorite brand.

Talk about why you like the brand so much and what makes you a fan. Are you a Paneristi or a fan of mysterious Serpaneva? What about it catches your eye and speaks to your senses?

6. Post about a particular problem, gripe or issue you had with a watch and ask whether others had the same problem.

Maybe it’s a problem with inaccuracy, the winding mechanism or uncomfortable nature of the strap. Chances are someone will understand exactly what you are going through.

7. Post a question that you are seeking the answer to.

Are you looking for background information about a particular model, need opinions about two watches you are deciding between or have a technical question about how something works? A lot of times, our members will know more than salespeople and will always give an honest straightforward response. So don’t hesitate to ask whatever is on your mind.

8. Post advice or a tip.

Maybe you found something that works for you whether it has to do with watch care, watch shopping, or anything else watch related. Others will likely be able to find it useful too.

Post: "Buy it if you like it!"

9. Post something “just because”.

A “just because” post is just what it says. You post a picture of your watch at any moment for no particular reason except to simply share it or share the mood of the moment. Maybe you are sunbathing on the sandy shores of your local beach and admiring your sporty Submariner. Or perhaps you are waiting in an airport coffee shop during a layover and playing with the GMT function on your JLC. Snap a picture of it and send it our way. Don’t forget to tell us where you are and what you were doing in case someone is curious.

10. Post about anything in TimeOut.

For everything else under the sun, there’s always a place for it in TimeOut. The latest vacation in a far off exotic locale, your best meal of the year or the new sporty car you are cruising around town in. Share it in Time Out or the Automotive forum and you might just be surprised at how much everyone will appreciate that you did.
