G'day,
the sceleton tourbillon reminded me of a little intermezzo earlier this year, during the visit of fellow enthusiasts at Girard-Perregaux and JeanRichard.
It´s a "making of" in some way
A highlight of every visit at GP of course is the Haute Horlogerie department; that´s where all whirly thingies and particularly those with Three Bridges come to life.
That´s a heavy dose of watchmaking as can be and every time this workshop is a source of wonders and surprises. Admittedly, for me as well; despite having visited the Haute Horlogerie watchmakers in their old and new premises several times, it´s always something new to see.
Now this time, a seemingly simple piece was in the making, apart from the sceleton already pictured in some earlier posts in May 2007.

Now wait; what´s Marc Frelechoux (GP´s watchmaker with a favor of "fancy" haircuts and truly golden hands) doing?

The reactions are pretty much the same as mine
It´s still a long way until it is finally finished. But when it´s done...
The sceleton tourbillons are wonderful marvels, but the very very rare Sapphire Bridges would be a very tough choice to choose!
Cheers,
Peter
