Christianch shares his initial impressions of the Zenith El Primero Limited Edition Hodinkee, a watch that sold out in under an hour. His review highlights the key distinctions that made this 38mm chronograph a highly sought-after piece, sparking community discussion on its vintage appeal and design choices.

Happy to share the arrival of the Zenith El Primero Limited Edition "Hodinkee" and wow, what a watch.
This watch was announced as a surprise and sold out in less than 1 hour from the launch.

I was very surprised by this launch and was really happy to get one. The many difference between the regular line is the smaller case (38mm) domed crystal, a fine tuning with the
relevant COSC certificate and of course the gorgeous El Primero movement.

The dial is a slate grey that, according to the designers, it was borrowed from a model of the 1960s.

The dial is truly spectacular and at 38mm there is a vintage feel that is very charming!

I think that Zenith has a lot of potential as we have seen by some new great watches like the Land Rover and now..this one.  The watch also came with three different straps that
is a great touch. Here is with the cordovan blue strap.

The box has a retro look and feel too.

and of course I let you admire the great el-primero movement!

This watch was priced "right" and therefore was very successful. I am very happy and pleased with the watch that didn't break the bank and made me really happy to rejoin a great brand like Zenith.

Thanks for watching!

I was just surprised on how quick it was. Really a great watch a lot of value. So perhaps if some manufacturers play their cards right there is always a market for value pieces !

And I loved the story about the 3/6/9 markers on the minute chrono dial.

by total chance my same number as my birthday! It shipped by courier with no extra price. Very nice packaging and a hand written note. It was launched on Wednesday so shipment was very fast too!

very seducive dial as well! But isn't the case the one from the regular El Primero 1969 model (which is also 38mm)? Best, Magnus
