Blomman Mr Blue shares his impressions of the Zenith El Primero 1969 in its 38mm version, expressing a strong preference for its proportions over the 42mm model. He highlights how the smaller case size allows the iconic tri-color sub-dials to perfectly fill the dial, creating a more coherent and elegant aesthetic. The post includes detailed images, including a captivating movement shot, inviting fellow enthusiasts to appreciate this classic chronograph.
The other day I had the chance to see the El Primero 1969, the 38 mm version.

I must say that I find the 38 mm version much more attractive than the 42 mm.
The three colored sub-dials really fill the dial and don’t leave any empty spaces.
The lugs are much more elegant in shape and the fit on the wrist is perfect!

Unfortunately none of my wrist shots came out even a little bit OK, but that had nothing to do with the fit or comfort of the watch…
So I will leave you with a movement shot!

Best

I will have to report next week on a new acquisition, and compare it to my existing Striking 10th. Thanks for priming my excitement! Cheers, Cholack

This 38mm version will be my choice :) Thanks for the pics Blomman. Here are some wristshots I took recently when I was trying this watch. Cheers Robin
