Ares501 - Mr Green shares his enthusiasm for a rare Zenith AutoSport Luxe Automatic 28800, highlighting its distinctive green dial and vintage charm. His post provides a brief historical context for the AutoSport line, tracing its evolution from the Sporto series and emphasizing its in-house manufacturing and robust design philosophy.
It is
Zenith it is green...it has to be mine

Sporto line of manual wind Zenith watches was produced from 1955 till 1958 and afterwards
evolved in AutoSport range of watches with self-winding movements.
Sporto line was very successful in 1950s and was completely manufactured in house.
Sporto and AutoSport models were designed and imagined as daily beaters, watches that
can stood test of time.
I have seen 3 iterations of AutoSport luxe
The blue the red and the green version.
I have seen majority of AutoSport luxe model made with blue dial
less with red and even less with green.
Heart that beats inside AutoSport luxe is 2562PC caliber. Sweep seconds automatic caliber with
28 800 A/h, 43 hrs of power reserve and date change set by changing from 19 to 24.
