Mj23 celebrates reaching 1,000 posts on the forum, reflecting on his journey from lurker to active community member. He credits the forum's expert knowledge, camaraderie, and the Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter for inspiring his engagement, highlighting the site's value to watch enthusiasts.

I'd been mostly a lurker on this forum for the most part when I first discovered this site years ago. 1k posts seemed an impossible journey as I did not come to this site often initially and I only enjoyed reading various posts for the most part.

I remembered things completely changed when I found a lot of information from PuristS experts' posts on the Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter ~ 2 years ago because I was very interested in that watch...That's when I started to dive into this forum on a very regular basis and discovered a lot more wealth of expert knowledge, analysis, feedback that I did not know before, especially across all possible brands....I also started to make some friends thru this forum.. This is when I knew this is the best place on the internet for watch lovers and it receives all new comers with wide open arms and boasts camaraderie...

Now, it's become a part of my daily routine that I need to browse thru this forum on a daily basis..or let's say...at least hourly... smile, whether to receive or provide opinions, to wow at amazing pieces or in depth analysis, or what have you.. It's just a very enjoyable experience altogether..

Last but not the least, I've also learned the danger of being the vlad casualty here, whether intentionally or unintentionally..which is also the most lethal on this forum.. smile

At the end of the day, it's all fun! So I want to thank all on this forum for such a wonderful experience and look forward to spending more time here...

About the Montblanc Ref. 1858Collection

The Montblanc 1858 Split Second Chronograph is a limited edition offering within the 1858 collection, distinguished by its complex split-second chronograph complication. This particular reference, limited to 100 pieces, features a unique burgundy dial, setting it apart from other models in the series and appealing to collectors seeking a more exclusive and visually distinct timepiece with advanced horological functions.

The watch is housed in a stainless steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and 15.2mm in thickness. It is fitted with a fixed 18k white gold fluted bezel. The dark burgundy dial, finished with a sunray pattern, complements the case materials. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal. The timepiece is powered by the hand-wound MB 16.31 calibre, which measures 38.4 x 8.13 mm, and offers a power reserve suitable for its intricate mechanical functions.

This reference appeals to collectors interested in high-complication chronographs and Montblanc's Minerva heritage. Its limited production run and specific dial color make it a notable variant within the 1858 collection, offering a blend of historical design cues and modern watchmaking. The large dimensions reflect its pocket watch-inspired movement architecture, a characteristic often appreciated by enthusiasts of traditional horology.
