I'd been mostly a lurker on this forum for the most part when I first discovered this site years ago. 1k posts seemed an impossible journey as I did not come to this site often initially and I only enjoyed reading various posts for the most part.
I remembered things completely changed when I found a lot of information from PuristS experts' posts on the Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter ~ 2 years ago because I was very interested in that watch...That's when I started to dive into this forum on a very regular basis and discovered a lot more wealth of expert knowledge, analysis, feedback that I did not know before, especially across all possible brands....I also started to make some friends thru this forum.. This is when I knew this is the best place on the internet for watch lovers and it receives all new comers with wide open arms and boasts camaraderie...
Now, it's become a part of my daily routine that I need to browse thru this forum on a daily basis..or let's say...at least hourly...

, whether to receive or provide opinions, to wow at amazing pieces or in depth analysis, or what have you.. It's just a very enjoyable experience altogether..
Last but not the least, I've also learned the danger of being the vlad casualty here, whether intentionally or unintentionally..which is also the most lethal on this forum..
At the end of the day, it's all fun! So I want to thank all on this forum for such a wonderful experience and look forward to spending more time here...

About the Montblanc Ref. 1858Tachymeter
The 1858 Tachymeter Chronograph is a limited edition monopusher chronograph that draws inspiration from Minerva chronographs of the 1930s. This reference is distinguished by its historical design cues, including a tachymeter scale on the dial and cathedral-style hands, which are characteristic of vintage military and pilot's watches. It represents a significant offering within the 1858 collection, emphasizing traditional watchmaking and a vintage aesthetic.
This particular model features an 18k rose gold case measuring 44mm in diameter and 13.15mm in thickness. It houses the manual-wind caliber MB M16.29, a movement known for its large balance wheel and V-shaped chronograph bridge, visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The movement provides a power reserve of 50 hours. A domed sapphire crystal protects the black dial, and the watch is water-resistant to 30 meters.
As a limited edition, this reference appeals to collectors interested in historically inspired chronographs and the artisanal craftsmanship associated with the Minerva manufacture. Its monopusher complication and the visible finishing of the movement are key attractions. The watch is fitted with an alligator leather strap, completing its classic presentation and reinforcing its position as a collector-grade timepiece within the brand's heritage-focused offerings.
