He questions whether these certifications remain necessary when many high-end brands, such as Patek Philippe, A. Lange & Söhne, and Rolex, achieve exceptional accuracy without external validation. This article synthesizes community insights on the value proposition of watch certifications across different price points and brand philosophies.
I have no complaints and am happy with what I have, although I always envy other people’s collection too 😊.
No vintage here??? You're missing the fun my friend! Just kidding. Awesome collection. Enjoy it in the best health! René
in the making ) I am just waiting for another 20-30 years and they will all be superb vintages. I know you are, Rene. Thank you!
And an interesting question. For me it is only important for microbrands or lower cost watches. At lower price points and with microbrands, cosc is a nice guarantee that the brand cares enough to bother with going beyond slapping a miyota into an AliExpress case. I'm very impressed by Serica's watches for this exact reason. At higher price points, all these things are already taken for granted, and if your brand's accuracy is beyond cosc anyway it may give the impression that it is less accurate
