Vacheron Constantin Dinner Event in Tokyo....

... I can tell you that this is not a "usual" dinner, but an extraordinary one at an extraordinary place.  Perhaps it may not be easy for all to grasp and I can't talk much, but the venue is one of the VERY important places for Japan's big old guys.

Vacheron Constantin invited major retailers and their clients, putting each in the separate rooms.

In the dining room.... just wow....

And, SOME of the attendee/ collectors' VCs..

On my wrist....

Now, downstairs is the display room.

Patrimony Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph

Patrimony
Traditionnelle Caliber 2755

Malte 100th Anniversary Edition (LE of 100)

Malte Tourbillon

Malte Small Second

Patrimony
Traditionnelle Skeleton Perpetual Calendar

Metiers d'Arts: Tribute to Great Explorers - "Marco Polo" Expedition (LE of 60)

Metier d'Art: Lady Kalla Flame

Makie Series - Metier d'Art:
3 watches set (LE of 20 sets) - 2012 model - La Symbolique des Laques "Hanami, Yukimi, Tsukimi" - Winter

These are Japanese' traditional three big fun events for eyes (and ears) ("mi" means "see" or "look" or "watch").  Naming this series "Winter" is a bit off.....

Hana-mi - seeing the flower, but this particular phrase means for the Cherry Blossom season.  This is the SPRING event.

Yuki-mi - seeing the snow.  Seeing the falling snow is the beauty or "wabi" "sabi" of enjoying the silence.  Yes, WINTER.

Tsuki-mi - seeing the moon.  Seeing the full moon in autumn is the special event.  The time for harvesting and again, enjoying the silence and imagining what or who are on that bright disk in the sky.  Like I said, this is AUTUMN.

Another three watch set (LE or 20 sets) - 2011 model:

Tortoise and lotus,

Carp and Fall

Frog and Hydrangea

The display back (sorry for the not-so-good pic)

This one is NOT by VC, but gigantic, and apparently very old clock there....

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

As always, special thanks go to:
Mr. Vincent Gouget, CEO, Vacheron Constantin Japan.

Best,
Ken

Thanks a lot Ken for the report!

I like this pic: With the presence of Vacheron, it is a bit the story of the meeting of 2 cultures. Thanks for the report. Fx

A pleasure to view

The unique editions are always interesting and I'm wondering if you can tell us more about this piece...

I also see a unique variation of the RG 31-Day Retrograde

I'd love to learn about that one too...was it a special version for the Japanese market, or perhaps the first version in the late 1990s before the std. production Ref. 47245 came out in 2000? Std. production ref. 47245, introduced in 2000 for VC's 245 Anniversary (not a LE) Thanks for the report and write up about the dinner event...VC really goes all out! Best Regards, Dan

I'll try to find out about this variation....

it is very good attractive, and I suspect it is a special dial for the Japanese market, with the same 47245/000R reference number. Bill

This one captured my attention too with its vintage appeal....

At a glance, thought it is a V&C! Tell us more.....
