1WatchMan's exploration of the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time, reference 7920V, offers a compelling look at its seasonal appeal and practical complications. His post highlights the subtle yet significant design updates, particularly the tapered bracelet, inviting collectors to consider how these refinements enhance the Overseas's renowned versatility. This discussion provides valuable insights for both prospective buyers and current owners of the 4500V reference.

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas reference 4500V is a contemporary interpretation of the brand's integrated bracelet sports watch, positioned as a versatile daily wear option within its high horology offerings. It represents a key model in the third generation of the Overseas collection, emphasizing robust construction and refined finishing.
This reference typically features a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter and approximately 11mm in thickness, equipped with a screw-down crown and a transparent case back revealing the movement. It is powered by the in-house Caliber 5100, an automatic movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offering a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The watch is distinguished by its six-sided bezel, inspired by the Maltese cross, and an integrated bracelet system with quick-change functionality for straps.
For collectors, the 4500V is notable for its blend of technical sophistication and practical wearability. Its Geneva Seal certification attests to the movement's exceptional quality and finishing. The quick-change strap system, allowing for easy interchangeability between the steel bracelet, leather, and rubber straps, enhances its appeal as a versatile luxury sports watch.
My choice would be the same as yours above. The Overseas Dual Time is, to me, in the all-time hall of horological fame. Much appreciate your images, cheers, Filip
My dilemma is now if two Overseas is not too much, either "add" or "upgrade" π
when it comes to that. I've never been a collector of anything, I think in far too responsible and practical (but not necessarily utilitarian) terms. I'll genuinely never own more than 5-7 expensive watches in total simply because that isn't the type of character I am, regardless of my finances.... Cheers, Filip
I already have more than enough expensive watches, so I look only at refining or optimizing my collection in terms of "use cases" if that makes sense. I want enough diversity to cover my "needs" and optimize the piece/s covering every gap.
has never looked so "technical" to me, which I find very appealing. The sharp contours of the bezel and the fact that the dial color itself does not draw attention, or distract, are responsible for that impression, I think. Very clear, distinct look! Cheers Marc
Apart from say doing a repair job on your car, there is nowhere this would be out of place. Chique dinner? On the bracelet or leather strap depending on your outfit. Boating or skiing or hiking holiday? On the rubber strap. Itβs just perfect. Starting to realize that no other haute horlogerie brand offers this versatility. I wouldnβt keep two overseas though one would be enough for me.
