ArmisT's quest for the perfect strap for his platinum Vacheron Constantin Cornes de Vache highlights a common dilemma among collectors: how strap finish impacts a watch's overall aesthetic. His detailed comparison between a glossy OEM strap and a matte aftermarket option invites the community to weigh in on a subtle yet significant detail. This discussion underscores the importance of strap choice in complementing a timepiece's design and personal style.

I was hoping to solicit forum membersโ€™ opinion on a choice between two straps for the platinum CdV.  The main difference between them is that one has a glossy finish while the other is matte.  The first picture below is of a very stylish gentleman who is wearing a custom order VC strap with denim color (thatโ€™s the name) in a glossy finish.
The subsequent series of pictures is my light blue, matte finish aftermarket strap taken at different angles and lighting to show you the strap color and also the dial hands.

Initially I loved the VC strap, but I didnโ€™t notice the gloss at first.  My concern was that it might overwhelm the dial components, or just not integrate with them as well as the matte strap.
Yes, I know Iโ€™m overthinking a small issue, but I would sincerely like to know what do you think between the two straps?

I personally prefer the non-gloss one you got ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Botha re nice straps but the matte one just gels better with the watch for me - that second picture really shows how well it pairs. And even in more intense light it works well, being a closer match to the case ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

First of all, you can wrap that beautiful watch in a ham sandwich and it will look great.

Both versions work well, I prefer the nonglossy

Yours is better IMO. I usually prefer low gloss (satin) or matte.

I like the idea of low gloss, which I didnโ€™t know.๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฝ
