For me, the dial design has always left a less favourable impression when compared with its progenitors. The ladies pocket watches, being around the same size as the modern wrist version, illustrate my point. "CHRONOMETRE ROYAL" was more prominent than the Manufacture's name, but reversed with the 1907. Aside from how this projected a confidence in their position within the Swiss watch hierarchy, it lends a sense of delicacy and refinement that only reinforced the first point. The hands too; muc

you'll appreciate this historical tidbit. The subscription sales of the full-size Chronometre Royal pocket watches by Campos in Brazil left one poor soul to wait the full term, making payments every week. The reward for such patience (and being the only one to pay full price) was a "free" ladies small CR. Not such a hardship when one can wait two years for service nowadays ;-)
