Emmanuel, known as quattro, presents a compelling visual comparison of the Vacheron Constantin ref. 47101 in platinum, inviting collectors to weigh in on their preferred dial variation. This exploration highlights the subtle yet significant impact of dial color on a reference's aesthetic and collectibility, making a 10-year-old discussion relevant for new enthusiasts discovering this iconic chronograph.

That pulsations dial -- oh la la (as you might say ;-))
I wouldn't want to have to choose between them if ever given the opportunity (which has the proverbial snowball's chance in hell of happening). Thanks for the excellent post. M4
But I think Salmon looks the most attractive to me. Btw, there were also 15 of these that were gathered by VC in collaboration with SWC. They were then restored and enhanced with commemorative features - red tip on seconds hand, hand-engraved commemorative bridge. *all pics from SWC.
For some reason, I never liked salmon dials, too limiting to wear, that’s why I sold my 5270P as well…
47101 silver dial, for me! Best, Emmanuel
Not fond of the salmon 4178, personally. 47101 silver dial, for me! Best, Emmanuel
