Tony (aperna) shares a deeply personal connection to his Rolex Datejust, a watch received in 1979 that accompanied him through his final year of medical school. His decision to swap the original bracelet for a strap not only refreshes its aesthetic but also highlights the enduring versatility and sentimental value of a classic timepiece. This post resonates with collectors who appreciate watches as more than mere instruments, but as companions through life's significant milestones.

That looks great Tony !
...and all the more so because of sentimental reasons. Such a classic design...it looks better than the modern versions : )
to have such great tastes
It remembers me about a Baume and Mercier which i thought it could be a Rolex. So, the attraction of Rolex is for me in my subconsciousness. The late seventies, early eighties, an important time, when it all began for me, and see your 1979 Rolex, you the same. Have great wrist time Tony.
A great watch with stories to pass on to your daughter. Enjoy it!
I could afford a rolex at the time but loved this one a lot
