New research released by Karus Chains shows that the Casio G-Shock and the Rolex Submariner are the top 2 most popular watches based on Google searches. The research lists the top 50 most popular watches and compares their search volume over a 2 year period. The research also details location data for the top 12 watches.
Using Long Tail Pro software and Google’s Keyword Planner tool, 23,500 keyword search terms associated with over 50 of the most popular watch brands were analyzed. The top 50 watches had a total of 29.5 million searches on Google for the 12 month period March 2015-February 2016.
The main findings are as follows:
· The Casio G-Shock and the Rolex Submariner share the number 1 spot with each watch generating 2.95 million searches per year*
· Rolex is the most popular brand with 4 watches in the top 12
· The USA is the number 1 search market for 11 of the top 12 watches. The exception is the Casio Edifice where India is the number 1 search market
· The Seiko 5 is the only watch in the top 12 that has not seen any growth in search volume between 2014-2015
*The Apple Watch was excluded from this report as the search numbers for the Apple Watch are included in a report that we published in Feb. 2016 where we list the top 50 watch brands .
