Thanks to RaymondS who let me play with this Daytona. I already said it, I am not a fan of Daytonas, but in this case, I changed my mind. This version is a king of Cool! The only problem is to find one at the retail. I will let fate decide if it is for me or not. I would like to see fate on my side,
The Cosmograph Daytona reference 116500LN represents a significant evolution within the Daytona collection, introducing a black Cerachrom bezel to the steel model. This reference succeeded the 116520 and quickly became a highly sought-after contemporary chronograph. It maintains the classic Daytona aesthetic while incorporating modern material technology for enhanced durability and scratch resistance on the bezel.
This reference features a 40 mm Oyster case crafted from Oystersteel, paired with a fixed black Cerachrom bezel with an engraved tachymetric scale. It is powered by the in-house Rolex Caliber 4130, a self-winding mechanical chronograph movement known for its robust construction and precision. The movement offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, ensuring water resistance up to 100 meters.

I ordered a white one and received a black six months after. I didn't decline when the AD called me, I'm happy with it. Last week I gave Rolex Paris a call and ask them if I could change the dial. The associate told me it's possible on some models, maybe for the Daytona in the upcoming months but not now and I will have to justify of 1 year of ownership. I think if a white one is offered to me I'll buy it too.
To find one at retail is not impossible, just a matter of when. Hope you get yours soon one day.
But make sure that you have seen the black dial in the metal too before you decide. It completely changed my mind. Best, Volker
