Jlux seeks community advice on changing the dial of his Rolex Day-Date 40 from dark blue to olive green, considering Rolex's dial change service. This post delves into the aesthetic and practical implications of such a modification, sparking a debate on versatility versus uniqueness.

I will certainly not rush.
the blue will age better and is more versatile imho. But at the end of the day Nicoโs advice seems sound!
I agree with Nicoโs suggestion but if I had to choose right now I would pick blue
Green may not match all dress codes...IMHO Best, mahesh.,
My opinion is the green looks better on the RG case, but I think it looks almost as good with the WG. Valid points on the Blue dial being more versatile but as an overall package the green is just a better looking watch.
do a dial change until the warranty has run out. 5 years from purchase. When its done they keep your dial, bill you for the new dial and a full service. Not a great deal in my view. I remember the good old days when ADs had all the dials in stock and on display which you could buy and then have changed out on a whim at the store while you waited if they had a competent watchmaker on staff.
