GLau's recent post offers a rare, intimate look into a Patek Philippe collector's gathering, highlighting two of the most sought-after and discussed Nautilus references: the 5711P Special Client and the 5711 Tiffany. His firsthand impressions provide invaluable insights into the physical presence and unique characteristics of these 'grail' timepieces, often only seen in photographs. This article captures GLau's unique perspective and the community's immediate reactions to these horological icons.

what watches I wanted to see.  Even though I am only aware of  a small part of each of their collection, I knew enough to ask a certain GRAIL (which I have not seen in the metal) from each !

The 5711P Special Client is especially "SPECIAL" because of the T stamp.  The heft felt so good, but the owner told that wearing it the whole day greatly tires his arm.  The color is very charming and looks slightly different than the 5711P 40th in that it seems a bit brighter. With it on my wrist, I was drooling like a baby !

Regarding the "controversial" 5711 Tiffany, seeing the Tiffany Blue dial made me say WOW WOW WOW !  In the metal, the color just POPS !  You could spot this piece from a mile away.  Though curious, I did not want to and did not dare to ask how he was able to get the allocation, and the same thinking went for the 5711 Special Client.  We all simply enjoyed each other's company and watches.  The time passed quickly and the GTG came to an end after some drinks and delicious food.  Wonder what we will see at the next GTG ?

Which piece(s) sings to you ?

Very serious contenders, of course, but your Porchet/Rousseau is the undisputed winner for me.
