In this captivating post, locutus49 shares a personal account of his two-week private trip to Egypt, offering a unique perspective on traveling with a luxury timepiece. His experience at the iconic Abu Simbel temple, featured prominently in the latest 'Death on the Nile' film, provides valuable insights into the current state of tourism and safety for watch enthusiasts exploring ancient wonders. locutus49's narrative challenges common perceptions about wearing high-value watches in less conventional travel destinations.

Itβs what tHey are made for. Egypt is a dream. Thank you for sharing this moment.
Thanks for sharing here, Filip
Yeah, I insure my watches and wear them. However, it occurs to me that if someone stole my Patek, insurance might not pay the current replacement value...(*_*)
Probably Iβm one of the peasants back then only to admire in awe from afar. I always love to see ancient wonders and hopefully some day to visit Egypt too. Enjoy your vacation, glad to see and hear you feel safe.
and the Egyptians are a very kind people. And while it is primarily Muslim, there are all different levels of religious garb worn, and a good half of the people wore Western clothes. And they are especially proud of their Jewish and Christian temples/churches. BUT, and this is important, don't tell them Ancient Aliens build the pyramids. One of our guides was aware of this TV series and was irate at the very idea as he said his ancestors built them. lol
thanx for your advice. I am grateful.
