Patekfinity's post ignited a fervent discussion among collectors, speculating on the future of the Patek Philippe Nautilus, particularly the highly sought-after Ref. 5711. The thread delves into the implications of a Hodinkee interview with Thierry Stern, prompting the community to dissect potential new releases and the broader market dynamics influencing luxury watch collecting. This conversation offers valuable insights into collector sentiment and the evolving landscape of watch media.

The Patek Philippe reference 5711/1A-011, part of the Complications collection, is distinguished by its white dial, offering a different aesthetic compared to other dial variations within the 5711 series. This particular configuration provides a clean and legible presentation, appealing to collectors who prefer a more understated yet refined look. It represents a specific iteration of a well-known Patek Philippe model, recognized for its integrated design.
The watch features a 40mm stainless steel case, housing the self-winding Caliber 26-330 SC movement. This movement provides a power reserve of 45 hours. The case is fitted with a sapphire crystal, contributing to its water resistance of 120 meters. The fixed bezel and integrated bracelet are characteristic elements of its construction.
This reference appeals to collectors interested in the evolution of Patek Philippe's offerings, particularly those seeking specific dial colors within established model lines. Its production run from 2019 to 2021 marks it as a relatively recent, yet now discontinued, variant. The watch's specifications align with Patek Philippe's standards for mechanical timepieces.
…and wrote an honest reply that was less than favorable to the Stern gods. I think I am on Santa Dinkee’s naughty list because everything I write goes into the gray moderation zone and most get deleted for good. The site can brook no dissent. They want every commenter to tow the party line: ‘every watch we feature is great.’ ‘And don’t forget to visit our shop before you leave and buy something from an obscure brand we’ve been hyping for the past month.’ It’s getting to be a game now…I post snar
I’m not a fan of Hodinkee collaboration watches as well. But find their articles interesting read and enjoy the video interviews of Talking Watches. So far last year has been sparse in the ppl they are interviewing
i know peoples heads will explode in excitement but considering how hot patek models are i really hope they don't resort to this gimmick.
...but they suck up to everyone in the industry, especially the Sterns. And they have become increasingly 'woke.' Some of their recent essays spend half the time bashing white, heterosexual men...I can get that crap from TV...tell me about watches.
...it would be like Tiger asking me for swing tips : )
Their earlier collab is sincere and have strong unique character
