FabR, a distinguished member of the WatchProSite community, shares his profound joy and detailed insights into his acquisition of the Patek Philippe 5177G-028 "School of Fish" from the 2021 Rare Handcrafts collection. This article delves into the exquisite enamel artistry of this timepiece, crafted by Anita Porchet's atelier, and explores the nuances of owning such a limited and artistically significant Patek Philippe reference. FabR's personal account and stunning photography offer a rare glimpse into the world of high horology and the unique experience of collecting these exceptional pieces.

Dear Friends,

let me officially share with you the HUGE joy of this new enamel piece, which I picked up upon arrival in Italy last week --- simply put, one of the best-looking watches I have EVER seen in person! smile

I know my pictures will never do it justice, but I hope they will at least convey a feeling of the AMAZING dial of this 5177G (authored by Anita Porchet's atelier), which is already one of the top, top favorite Pateks of my collection! smile

My sincere Thank-You to the great Italian AD where I picked up this beauty, and of course to Patek Philippe for honoring me with another one of these incredible allocations!

Hope you'll enjoy! smile

Some of the official documents with the technical specs:

Since I cannot release the "unboxing" video, here's a screen grab to at least show you my happy face in real time! smile

And here it is along with my other Christmas incoming....courtesy of my fantastic girlfriend with the assistance of the same AD, who organized together this AMAZING Rolex OP41 gift! smile

And finally, the last five Pateks that I was blessed with, together in this "Rare Handcraft family collage" smile

In obvious order: 5177G-028 "School of Fish" (enamel); 5177G-010 "Boccadasse" (enamel & miniature painting); 5088/100P (hand engraving & black enamel); 5131/1P (enamel); 5089G-020 (wood marquetry).

About the Breguet Classique Ref. 5177

The Breguet Classique reference 5177 represents an automatic entry within the Classique collection, distinguished by its 38mm case proportions and rose gold construction. This reference utilizes automatic movement technology within the traditional Classique aesthetic framework.

The 38mm case is crafted from 18k rose gold and houses an automatic movement. The silver dial provides contrast against the warm gold case material. Sapphire crystal protects the dial surface, while the watch maintains 30 meters of water resistance. The bezel design remains fixed in position.

Reference 5177 appeals to collectors seeking automatic movement functionality within traditional dress watch proportions. The 38mm case size positions this reference for those preferring mid-sized case dimensions, while the rose gold construction and silver dial combination offers specific aesthetic preferences within the broader Classique automatic range.

It’s ownership by a nuanced Patek handicraft collector is well-deserved, IMHO. Wear it in the best of health. Hussam
