Amanico (Nicolas) introduces the Panerai PAM 1346, a unique piece destined for auction to benefit UNESCO. His detailed post provides an exclusive look at this 47mm platinum watch, highlighting its vintage Angelus movement and pre-Vendôme inspired aesthetics. Nicolas's initial impressions and questions about the material choice sparked a lively discussion among collectors, exploring the watch's design, market strategy, and potential future iterations.
For a noble cause ( UNESCO ).
47 mm platinum case, sapphire glass ( you can change for a plexy ), andI understood that you could also change the see through case back for a solid one ( to be checked ).
Inside is beating a vintage Angelus movement, with a 8 days power reserve.
And a superb box, reminding the pre vendome ones.
The PAM 1346:

The Angelus SF 240 movement:

An " éclaté " shot:

The box.

The PAM 203, which was,

Here with a pair of 6251...

And a sublime 3646...

You will notice the new ( to me ) lugs.
Platinum, good or bad? I have mixed feelings. Steel would have been a more natural and logical choice.
The dial? I love it! As well as the vintage Angelus movement.
The thing I regret the most is that it is a piece unique, unless Panerai comes with a short series of steel version.
Best,
Nicolas
