Hi all,

Christie’s leaded this afternoon in Geneva the Only Watch 2017 auctions which reached almost 11 millions CHF/USD. Below are the top 5 auctions.

1/ Patek Philippe 5208T-010 —> Sold for CHF 6,200,000

No real surprise here. The expected “winner”...won.

2/ FP Journe Chronograph Monopoussoir Rattrapante Bleu / CMB —> Sold for CHF 1,150,000

No disappointment for this unique FPJ which reached a new record for the brand if I’m not mistaken. Superb!

3/ Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar —> Sold for CHF 800,000

My firm favourite when I saw it. Absolutely incredible with its unique dial. Audemars Piguet reached a new world record for the brand at an auction with this one (previous record was reached by a perpetual calendar from 1957 sold in 2015 in the US for USD 545,000).

4/ Tudor Black Bay Bronze One Left-handed —> Sold for CHF 350,000

Another incredible price reached by Tudor. 70 times the mid estimate 😳

5/ MB&F Horological Machine Number 8 Only Watch —> Sold for CHF 210,000

Well some great results!

I was actually surprised but the price the AP went for, it was a beautiful piece but what a crazy price. The PP, FPJ and Tudor were all as expected. On the other side, I thought the Urwerk x LF would have gone higher, but most were in the range of reasonable. Great cause and lots of money raised to help them. Will have to wait 2 years for the next stab at it... Cheers Andrew

In my opinion, the true crazy price came from (again!) the Tudor instead of the AP. This latter one is incredible in real for me while the Tudor left me cold

Well the Tudor went to the same buyer as last time...

I agree... it is not a spectacular watch... I don't mind it, but its a tool watch... but as we know Rolex/Tudor do not make unique pieces so if you ever want to get something unique, I guess it ticks the box. Sure he is happy to take it home together with his other very significant purchase of the day. For me 800k for an AP perpetual... I think I would keep mine and add a Gruebel Forsey! Cheers Andrew

Yes, such a huge price difference for a specific AP dial is not far to madness but I was really thrilled when I saw it in real
