Cristos71 introduces himself as a collector with a unique find: an Omega Seamaster 300 Ref. CK2913-2 with an Extract of the Archives stating 'Military Divers Watch' delivered to the US Air Force. This revelation sparks a community discussion, as military provenance for this specific reference is rarely documented, challenging conventional knowledge about Omega's military issues.

The Omega CK 2913 is a significant early example from the brand's professional series, distinguished by its robust construction and focus on specific functional requirements. It represents a foundational piece in a lineage of watches designed for demanding environments, emphasizing legibility and durability. This reference is part of a trio of professional tool watches introduced concurrently, each tailored for different specialized applications, and it stands out for its particular design elements that cater to its intended purpose.
This reference typically features a stainless steel case, designed for resilience. It houses a manual-winding mechanical movement, known for its reliability and precision. The watch is fitted with a durable crystal, contributing to its overall robustness. The case dimensions were chosen to provide a substantial presence on the wrist while maintaining wearability, reflecting the practical considerations of its era.
For collectors, the CK 2913 is a highly sought-after reference due to its historical importance within Omega's catalog of purpose-built timepieces. It appeals to those interested in the development of specialized watches and the evolution of design principles focused on utility. Variations within this reference, particularly concerning dial and hand configurations, are points of interest for enthusiasts, highlighting the subtle distinctions that define its different iterations.
But I heard about a CK 2913 Fuerza Aerea del Peru, and somewhere, I read something about a CK 2913 British Royal Navy... So that doesn't amaze me that you also found one, even if it seems that it is a rare bird. Now, this is not because I read something about a CK 2913 British Navy once that is is true. I ma curious to read what the real expeerts think... Best, Nicolas
...the extract say ? Delivered to the Air Force is the sense of one of the AirBase shops , or delivered to be issued. Very interesting especially because on the Omega extract now rarely write anything other of the country of delivery and date. I suggest you post also on MWR, where several resident specialst may contribute Congrats Franco
Sorry I have to get used to this method of posting and clicked submit before adding.... I have also posted on MWR but as yet have not had any responses. Regarding the question of delivered to the US Air Force for issue or for sale in the airbase shop, looking at the extract it is ambiguous, although the "Military Divers Watch" in the description gives one cause for hope! Regards, Chris
Hi cristos, It is a rare bird anyway as you have an early original example as far I can judge from the pics. Are there any military markings on the case back or inside? kind regards Erich
Hi Erich, No, there are no additional serial numbers on the inside or outside of the case, this is what strikes me as puzzling to begin with. Regards
Hello Chris Welcome to the forum.... As Erich mentioned, any CK 2013 is something special.. your 2013-2 with the early countdown bezel as apposed to the incrementing bezel. It is actually hard to make a determination of the dial condition due to the fact your photos are more "artistic" and not for watch identification. Would you be able to post a straight on photo of the dial ? With respect to the military issue. I would have expected some Military store markings on the caseback , maybe even NAT
