About the Omega Constellation Ref. 2627

The Omega Constellation stands as one of the brand's most enduring dress watch lines, launched in 1952 as Omega's flagship precision timepiece. This particular example represents the classic mid-century aesthetic that defined the Constellation's golden era, featuring the distinctive arrowhead hour markers that became synonymous with the collection. The series was conceived to showcase Omega's chronometer-grade movements, competing directly with other Swiss manufacturers' observatory-certified timepieces.

The champagne dial exhibits the crosshair pattern and applied markers that demonstrate Omega's attention to finishing detail during this period. The dauphine hands and sub-seconds register at 6 o'clock reflect the era's design language, prioritizing legibility and classical proportions. The case construction shows the characteristic Constellation profile, with its integrated lugs and polished bezel treatment that would influence subsequent generations of the model.

Vintage Constellations occupy a compelling position in today's collecting landscape, offering accessible entry into serious Swiss watchmaking heritage. While not commanding the premiums of sports models like the Speedmaster, well-preserved examples with original dials demonstrate steady appreciation among collectors who value understated elegance over contemporary hype. The rarity factor mentioned suggests this particular variant may feature an uncommon dial configuration, case material, or movement specification that distinguishes it from standard production models.

Great looking vintage Omega Constellation.

I am guessing it is two things the first being it is a Chronometre version and the second being it has a "Pie Pan Dial" Marc

All Connies are chronometers . . .

. . . but only a fraction are pie-pans. When it comes to ref 2852s my hunch is maybe a fifth at most were. 🥧
