Echi's recent post delves into the perennial collector's dilemma: the challenge of rotating watches when certain pieces, like the Omega Seamaster Professional 300, consistently command wrist time. This discussion explores the evolving criteria for acquiring watches, emphasizing the desire for daily wearability over mere collection, and how this shapes personal preferences towards 'boring' yet reliable timepieces. Echi's insights offer a relatable perspective for anyone grappling with a growing collection and the practicalities of watch ownership.

Takes awhile to rotate out and wear something different. Like this guy. Between the sd43 and the omega smp300, i hardly wear the others. And that’s my evolving criteria for buying a watch, btw.. i have to love it and that i also need to want to wear it every day.. a daily wearer! Why i gravitate towards boring pieces smile

So now, i break the cycle to daily wear this one..

Recently I have been wearing the same 6 watches for 2 weeks…

And surprisingly, I can live with that…that means I can really let go and not be too attached. Time to simmer, sit back and just enjoy what I have.

What are those 6? Would be interesting to see what a hypothetical trimming down would look like from your end..

I’d have a hard time with your pieces!

I was just lazy....not an indication of these 6 being the final, remaining watches that fits certain criteria.

They were: 1. PP 5235/50R 2. PP 5260/01G 3. Omega Trilogy 60th Speedmaster 4. Rolex Submariner Cermit 5. Lange Zeitwerk Date 6. Chopard Alpine Eagle XPS

And what a 6 that is! I’d probably wear the hell out of that Chopard :-)

Hehe the 372 is always ticking though. Love winding that thing, so sexy. The AK will have its turn :-)
