Jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) shares his experience visiting the Montblanc boutique in Singapore, focusing on the Villeret Vintage Chronograph. He highlights the impressive Calibre 16.29 movement and the watch's aesthetic appeal, despite finding its 43.5mm size and lug design challenging for his wrist. The post captures the allure of Montblanc's Villeret collection and the personal connection collectors have with these timepieces.

At my favorite Montblanc boutique in Singapore! Was there just now and decided to check out the Villeret section. Saw this Vintage Chronograph (which I know Anthony Tsai likes! ). smile

The calibre 16.29 is arguably more romantically looking than the calibre 13.21 in my MB Villeret and the new Meisterstuck Heritage Pulsographe as it is larger, has an even larger balance wheel and more curvy chronograph levers.

Unfortunately it is still a tad too big for my wrist! But at 43.5mm, it's better sized than the 47mm ones I feel. Here are some pictures I took with my smartphone. Montblanc staff reads our forum I suspect! I asked to see the Villeret Vintage Chronograph and my friendly sales rep took out a Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hour in rose gold too (Rising hour is on my shortlist and I had posted here before). Such poison is hard to resist! smile

Back to the Vintage Chronograph. The black enamel dial and 16.29 calibre is to die for! Enjoy the pics! smile

Cheers Robin

Ps: apologies for the over use of smileys between paragraphs. My android phone seems to have problems handling my post with paragraphing. Somehow I learned that smileys in between paras help in the past. Fingers crossed that it works else I will need a moderator to help me edit again!

I'd keep some beer there if they had a fridge. Or Bring Your Own Beer. Whatever your choice beverage is. Disclaimer: Please follow country specific rules. This is perfectly legal where I live. The 16-29 movement is my favorite Minerva Villeret movement. Huge balance wheel, slow beat, Minerva V Bridge, Minerva Arrow, and mono-pusher. But I agree, it is a very large movement, which makes it a very large watch.

You guys respond so quickly! It's much more readable now. Thanks for the edit Magnus! For the sake of posting on a mobile device on PuristSPro, I may get another smartphone next! Cheers Robin

It's a great collection that I tried on too. The little concern I had was about the lugs which are quite long, in addition to the wide case. But a fantastic finishing. Thanks for sharing Cheers, Mark
