Jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) reports on a special Montblanc and Steinway Gallery Singapore cocktail event, celebrating the launch of the Henry E. Steinway limited edition pens. While the event highlighted Montblanc's writing instruments, the author's passion for haute horology led to a focus on the brand's 2014 watch novelties, including the Meisterstück Heritage Perpetual Calendar.
Last Thu, Montblanc and Steinway Gallery Singapore organized a cocktail party at the Montblanc Mandarin Gallery Singapore boutique. It was for the launch of Montblanc's 2014 Patron of the Art, Henry E. Steinway limited edition pens.
Montblanc invited mainly their VIP pen collectors, trade partners, as well as some VIP boutique customers.
The guest of honor was Mr Dick Lee, a local song writer and celebrity - one of my most respected local artists in Singapore.
Even though I recently started pen collecting and bought some really nice Montblanc pens from the Montblanc boutique in Singapore, my passion is still much more aligned to haute horology. In fact, it was my Montblanc Villeret watch that made me buy more Montblanc products including pens and leather goods recently!
Anyway, I looked at the watches more than the pens that night to be completely honest
Looking out especially for their 2014 novelties and some of them were indeed there for guests to view.
In fact, just 3 days after I got my JLC master ultra thin perpetual boutique special edition.... I got a call from my regular Montblanc boutique sales rep and he told me the Meisterstuck Heritage Perpetual Calendars have arrived in Singapore for sale! The very first in South East Asia, just 2 pieces,1 in rose gold and 1 in steel.
Unfortunately, as I JUST got my JLC PC, I had to pass even though I paid a visit to the boutique to view them... and saw them again at the event... I was told on the weekend that both have been sold already. Congrats to the new owners! If you are Purists, pls share them here as you are probably the first in South East Asia or even the world to own this extremely good value mechanical perpetual calendars! I wish I can join these 2 owners someday soon too... have to save up again!
Anyway, some pics of the evening and some watches to share here. We will be sharing more on the Meisterstuck Heritage collection on PuristSPro Montblanc forum soon. Stay tuned
Enjoy!
cheers

A beautiful Steinway grand piano was on display at the Montblanc boutique
Me posing at the piano with my Montblanc Villeret (left wrist) and JLC MUT Perpetual (right wrist), along with a Montblanc belt and the 90th anniversary Montblanc 149 fountain pen in rose gold. Unfortunately no Montblanc shoes and glasses... ok I did my best here to support Montblanc
I learned more about Steinway pianos that night. Many parts are finished by hand - reminds me of how Montblanc Villeret movements and Montblanc fountain pen nibs are hand finished. Both Montblanc and Steinway Gallery having the finest in European craftsmanship.

The new Meisterstuck Heritage series. Love their sunburst dial! The Moonphase only watch in steel at 39mm is amazingly nice and GREAT value!
A slight feeling of regret... I could have gotten this watch instead of the JLC MUT Perpetual. I didn't know these MB PCs are coming so soon! The rose gold version is really very elegant and warm!

The Star Twin Moonphase, a watch I am reviewing soon. Very nice dial and blued hands with a very nice price
When the 2 Meisterstuck Heritage Perpetual Calendars first came to Singapore for sale, I was invited to see them 2 days before this event (unfortunately I didn't buy any of them and now both are sold!) - with my Montblanc 4810 WG ring
The steel version - one of the most competitively priced perpetual calendar. I am still getting used to the bi-color RG indices and hands and steel case but somehow they are growing on me with a warm look. Some of my friends (including Fx) feel that this gives more contrasts and warmth to the white metal watch.
