In this article, sham1 shares his successful acquisition of the ultra-thin MING 27.01, a limited edition timepiece that sold out in a remarkable eight minutes. His post offers a first look at the design and technical specifications, highlighting the collaborative movement modifications by Schwarz Etienne. This piece is particularly relevant for collectors interested in independent watchmaking and the challenges of securing highly sought-after limited editions.

MIng just released its ultra thin 27.01 stainless steel watch in a limited production of 125 pieces at 1pm GMT today.  All 125 pieces were sold out by 1.08pm GMT and I am glad to say I was one of the lucky ones.  The 27.01 is Ming's thinnest watch at 6.9mm and measures 38mm in diameter. It is a manual winding watch with a sapphire crystal case back that shows off the ETA Peseaux 7001 movement in at its glory as it only retains its gear train and escapement.  The bridges and plates are remade courtesy of Schwarz Etienne of Switzerland in collaboration with Ming's design.  I think the Jean Rousseau burgundy calf strap goes well with the case and I look forward to receiving mine sometime between September and November this year.  My only qualm perhaps is that the watch is a two handed watch rather than a three handed watch but I like the minimalist design.  All the photos below are courtesy of MIng

My favourite Ming so far thanks to the exposed manual movement and the slim case.
