Patrick_y's unboxing of the MB&F M.A.D. Edition 2 'World Tour Edition' offers a captivating look into the brand's accessible yet imaginative M.A.D. Editions. This article delves into the design philosophy and intricate details that make this timepiece a standout, celebrating MB&F's 20th anniversary through the lens of a passionate collector. Patrick_y highlights how the M.A.D. Edition 2 embodies the playful spirit of Max Büsser while offering enhanced wearability.

M.A.D. Editions are the little brother watches of the MB&F Horological Machines and Legacy Machines.  They generally have much simpler movements and are a simpler design, but still inhibit that playful and creative spirit of Max Busser.

The first M.A.D. Edition was a clever watch that looked like this and resembles a turtle!

Doesn't it look like a turtle?  Four feet (lugs), a head (crown), and a tail (time indicator)

This is the second M.A.D. Edition which resembles a DJ's platter and looks like a playful fun watch related to music and disco dancing.

Thus, without further ado, here's the unboxing of the M.A.D. Edition 2 (sometimes known as M.A.D. 2) in the World Tour Edition - celebrating 20 years of MB&F!

Here's the box with a slip cover.

The slip cover removed shows a custom foam box with a lapel pin!

I have a gold Patek Philippe lapel pin given to me from Thierry Stern, two Lange lapel pins, and now I have a M.A.D. 2 Lapel pin!  I've got a nice lapel pin collection going on!

When you open the foam box, this is what you see!  A disc jockey set up!  Clever!

The watch is shipped like this!  Well protected!

Whoa, this watch looks good on the wrist!  It even has a nice slim and elegant profile.  The case sides are both brushed and polished (like Lange)!  Nice details!  Also, what a nice light blue color!  It's a fun color, great for warm weather attire!

The deployant clasp even has the M.A.D. 2 Logo!

Here are some other colors of the M.A.D. 2; there's a green and an orange dial variant!

The concept was designed by Eric Giroud with some help from Max Busser!  Both of whom are fans of music!

The winding rotor spins and is visible from the dial side too - it looks like a turntable spinning!

The crown has a nice logo detail and the side of the case is both brushed and polished.  Really great looking case side.

The dial has grooves to look like a record pressing!

Thank you so much to the amazing team at M.A.D. Gallery Geneva (especially Hervé, the manager, whom I've had the pleasure to know for over a decade), to Eric Giroud for creating this piece, and to Max Busser for helming this incredible company that makes dreams come true!  Max, you and your team are amazing, keep on building your dreams!

About the H. Moser Concept Ref. concept

The 40mm palladium case houses the automatic HMC 200 caliber, providing 42 hours of power reserve. The watch features a sapphire crystal and fixed bezel configuration, with water resistance rated to 30 meters. The fumé dial is complemented by a leather strap, creating a refined aesthetic profile.

This reference appeals to collectors seeking contemporary H. Moser craftsmanship in precious metal casing. And this makes so much sense since you're practically a music creator!

It's also a lot thinner and thus much easier to wear!

It's a fun watch. And a lot of cool details and flourishes that one doesn't expect at the 2900 Euro price point!
