Christianch initiates a compelling discussion on Ludovic Ballouard et Fils's 'Series Gaga' Upside Down watch, questioning if its unique 'scribbled dial' design, priced at over 120K, truly resonates with collectors. This thread offers valuable insights into the intersection of artistic expression, personal narrative, and market reception within independent horology. Readers will gain a deeper understanding of how a watch's story can influence its perceived value and aesthetic appeal.

And an ugly watch. This watch obviously has a lot of meaning for Ludovic, and is intimately personal. But to commercialize this type of intimacy is extremely distasteful in my eyes.
But I know I don't like this watch as-is.
Apart from that it's just not a very attractive result, it feels very influencer-esque: monetise something that's supposed to be personal.
but I have a feeling that to a father something scribbled by your son is true art. But I am not sure it works for everyone else !
